With the weather getting warmer it is very easy to relax, so much that you dont workout or at least move like you should. I know I always tell myself I’m going to start tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes, then something will happen to make me put it on the back burner. The most common excuses are a hard day at work or not getting enough sleep. Every now and then those excuses are true, but there are times when we use the excuses and truthfully it’s just us being lazy. That’s when things start going downhill. We miss a day, then a week and then we rarely workout at all.
I try very hard not to let myself go throughout the winter, especially with the holidays when there is so much food around and not many healthy choices. I get weak over the carrot cake. I know all to well how easy it is to pack on the pounds, but it’s not so easy to get rid of them. We have to be smart when tackling our weight or it will refuse to leave us.
Let’s try this:
Plan- Come up with a routine and stick with it. I force myself to do at least 30 minutes and gradually move up to by 10 minutes when it is comfortable.
Move- You can walk, run or even dance but you have to move. I have always found walking to be the easiest way to move if you haven’t worked out on awhile, just start slowly.
Enjoy- Have fun with it, many times a workout can be boring but if you start with something you enjoy you are more likely to stick with it.
Eat- Be sensible, but no matter what you do eat at least 6 small meals a day for Ex : breakfast, small snack, Lunch, Small snack, Dinner, Small snack
Music- When you have an upbeat playlist it is easier to get your momentum and keep it.
Friends- Always enlist some friends to work out with you, or at the very least travel on this journey to loose weight with you, you guys can motivate each other.
No Scale- Don’t focus on the scale the numbers will make you crazy, just focus on the way your clothes fit you. If you want to weigh yourself do it once a week not everyday.
